Vehicle maintenance

Following wear items by mileage and by time, and recording each replacement.

The Vehicle maintenance screen follows the items replaced through wear: oil, filters, pads, belts and tires. Each item has a cycle, and the app warns you when it is coming due.

The tabs split the list into All, Favorites, Maintenance and Other.

  1. Add an item

Tap the floating button. The app offers Suggestions, with the most common items already set up, and you can start from one of them instead of filling everything in from scratch.

Set the Category, the Replacement cycle in distance and the Cycle (months). An item can have both criteria, and in that case the warning fires on whichever comes due first.

  2. Adjust when the warning comes

Warn at sets how far in advance the warning comes. Next reminder shows at which odometer reading it will fire, and is recalculated with every replacement recorded.

  3. Record a replacement

Tap the item to open the Item details, with Total spent, the Average per replacement, the number of Records and the History tab. Tap Register maintenance.

The form asks for Expense type, Date, Time, Odometer, Cost and Currency. Shop, Address, Notes and Attachments are optional; attaching documents is a paid plan feature. On saving, the app may ask whether it should update the vehicle odometer with the value you entered.

The cycle restarts from that record, and the next warning is recalculated. Without it, the item stays overdue indefinitely.

  4. Enter the mileage when there is no adapter

With no adapter connected the app has no way to get the current odometer and asks for the value when the screen opens. That number feeds every distance-based warning.

If the value you type is far above what is expected, the app warns you before saving rather than accepting it silently.

  5. Use the favorites

The Favorites tab gathers the items you watch closely, so they do not get lost in the middle of the full list.

If something goes wrong

The replacement has not been recorded. Open the item and enter the event with the date and the odometer: the cycle only restarts from that record.

The question appears because no adapter is connected, and distance-based tracking depends on the current mileage. With the adapter connected the value is read from the car and the question stops appearing.

Check three things: whether the item has Replacement cycle or Cycle (months) filled in, whether the Current odometer is up to date and whether the app notifications are allowed in the phone settings.

The alert appears when the value is far above what is expected for that car, the typical symptom of one digit too many. Correct it before saving or, if the value is right, confirm to go ahead.
