Finding where the car was left, setting a parking meter alarm and keeping a photo and a note of the spot.

When a trip ends, the app records where the car was left. The Parking screen has two tabs: the map of the current parking and the History of the previous ones.

The record is automatic and needs no action from you, but it depends on the all-the-time location permission, because the end of a trip usually coincides with the phone already being in a pocket.

  1. Get back to the car

    The map tab shows the spot, the address, how long the car has been parked and the Distance to car. The Walk button opens the walking route in the phone's maps app.

  2. Set an alarm

    Tap Tap to set an alarm, choose the Date and the Time and confirm. The feature serves parking meters, paid zones and time-limited parking. A time already past is refused with the Invalid time notice, and Remove alarm cancels an alarm that was set.

    On Android, if the app does not have the exact alarm permission, it warns that the notification can be up to fifteen minutes late and shows how to grant the permission in the system settings.

  3. Keep a reference of the spot

    Add photo and Take photo keep an image of the space, the floor or the column of the garage. Add note keeps free text, such as "G2, column 14".

    In shopping mall garages the note is usually more useful than the map, because GPS cannot tell floors apart.

  4. Share where you parked

    Sharing sends the spot to another person or to another app. It serves to find the car again with whoever is with you, or to leave a record of where the vehicle was left.

  5. Browse the history

    The History tab lists the previous parkings. Swipe a row to the left to delete, with a confirmation first.

If something goes wrong

The most common cause is the location permission. The record happens when the trip ends, a moment when the app is usually in the background, which is why the permission has to be the one that grants access all the time, not the one for use only with the app open.

If the Fix permission button appears on the screen, it leads straight to the right setting.

The position was stored, and only the street name was not resolved. This happens in basements, in areas with no coverage and in regions with incomplete mapping. The map and the distance keep working.

On Android, without the exact alarm permission the system can delay the notification by up to fifteen minutes. The app says so when you set the alarm and shows where to grant the permission in the system settings.

GPS cannot tell floors apart in covered garages. In those cases use Add note or Take photo: one line with the section and the column solves what the map cannot.

If the app says the file is too large, choose a smaller photo or take a new one from the screen itself, which already produces the image at the right size.
