Services

Recording what was done at the shop, with cost, date and receipt.

The Services screen keeps what was done to the car: oil changes, alignment, servicing, bodywork and labor. It is the history that adds value at resale and that keeps you from repeating a recent job by forgetting it.

  1. Record a service

Tap the floating button, choose the Expense type, Personal or Work, and enter the type of service, the cost, the Currency, the Date, the Time and the Odometer. Establishment name, Address and a note are optional.

  2. Keep the receipt

Use Attachments for a photo of the work order or of the invoice. A part's warranty usually depends on that document, which has to be at hand when the part fails.

  3. Adjust the list of types

Service types, inside the form, opens the list so you can add your own.

  4. Read the totals

At the top sit Cost, Per day and the amount per distance, for the period and the vehicle selected.

  5. Know the difference from Maintenance

Services records what was done, with the cost. Maintenance follows what is still coming due, with a cycle and a warning.

An oil change usually produces one record on each screen: the cost here, and the cycle renewal there.

If something goes wrong

Services is the record of what was done, with its cost. Maintenance is the tracking of what comes due, with a cycle and a warning.

When you change the oil, enter it on both screens: the cost in Services and the cycle renewal in Maintenance, so that the next warning is recalculated.

Open Service types from inside the form and add your own. The list applies to every vehicle.

The two screens are independent by design. Open the item in Maintenance and enter the replacement event: that record is what restarts the cycle.
