Calibrations

Speed correction, alert thresholds, sensors recorded per trip and performance settings.

The Calibrations screen, opened from Settings, corrects readings that arrive different from the car's dashboard, sets alert thresholds and gathers the settings that trade precision for performance. It is split into the Sensors, TPMS, Performance and Default sensors sections.

  1. Correct the speed

    Speed correction makes up for the difference between the speed read over OBD and the one shown on the car's dashboard. The correction is applied to the reading, so every screen and feature that uses speed reflects it automatically.

    Overspeed threshold is the value above which the Safe Score counts a speeding event. The default is 120 km/h.

  2. Tune the sensor check

    Alternative detection of supported sensors tests the sensors one by one instead of trusting the list the ECU reports, because some ECUs publish that list incorrectly. Turn it on only if sensors the car has are missing, because every connection becomes noticeably longer.

    Group identical probes asks the vehicle each distinct question only once during sensor discovery, which makes it far faster. Turn it off only to compare results.

    On Nissan and Infiniti cars, Manufacturer sensor list (Nissan/Infiniti) asks the ECU which manufacturer sensors it serves, 32 at a time, and Open and close a diagnostic session serves modules that only answer that list inside a session, returning the module to normal reading afterwards.

  3. Set the TPMS thresholds

    In the TPMS section, Minimum pressure and Maximum pressure set the alert thresholds: tires below the minimum appear in red on the Tire pressure screen, and above the maximum, in amber.

  4. Tune the performance

    Live Data Chart Refresh Interval sets how often the Individual and Integrated tabs are redrawn; higher values keep scrolling lighter in the rest of the app. Panel Refresh Interval does the same for the Panel: lower values make the animation smoother, and higher ones cut processor use.

    Priority sensor reading sets the reading rate of the priority sensors, which can be read several times a second. Zero keeps the reading continuous, and speed and RPM stay continuous at any value. ECU tolerance before reconnecting sets how many standard sensors may fail in a row before the app checks whether the ECU is still answering; higher values are more forgiving with slow adapters.

  5. Choose the sensors recorded per trip

    Default sensors lists the sensors recorded at the end of every trip and available in the playback forever. The other readings stay available for a number of hours after the trip ends, shown on the screen itself. Add sensor includes other sensors in the permanent recording.


If something goes wrong

That is a common difference between the speed read over OBD and the one shown on the dashboard. Adjust the Speed correction until the two values agree. The correction holds for every screen.

The event is counted above the Overspeed threshold, 120 km/h by default. Set the value to match the roads you actually use.

Turn Alternative detection of supported sensors on and run Check standard sensor support in Supported sensors. Since every connection becomes longer, turn the option off once the check has found what was missing.

Raise the Live Data Chart Refresh Interval and the Panel Refresh Interval. On slower devices, also set a value for Priority sensor reading rather than zero.
