The Terminal sends ELM327 commands straight to the adapter and shows the answer raw. It is the right tool for investigating a car that answers in an unusual way, and it does not replace the reading screens for everyday use.
Connect first
The screen needs the adapter connected and the ECU answering, because the commands are sent in real time.
Send a command
Type in the Please enter your command field and send. The answer appears below, exactly as the adapter returned it.
Commands starting with AT go to the adapter; the rest are passed on to the car.
Use it for what it is meant for
The terminal serves to confirm the adapter version, to check which protocol was negotiated and to try a command that the manufacturer documentation mentions and the app does not model yet.
To read sensors, use Live Data. To look for new sensors, use sensor discovery. Both screens do those jobs more safely.
Be careful
Write commands can change settings in the vehicle's ECU. If you do not know exactly what a command does, do not send it.
- Please enter your command
- The input field. AT commands go to the adapter; the rest go to the car.
- Output
- The adapter's original answer, with no processing by the app.
- Note
- The screen's own warning about using the terminal.
